Step 1: Access Google Analytics

  1. Go to Google Analytics.
  2. Sign in to an account that has access to the Google Analytics property.
  3. Click on the Admin (gear icon) in the bottom left corner.

Step 2: Understand Account vs. Property Access

  • Account Level Access: Grants access to all properties under the account.
  • Property Level Access: Grants access to a specific website or app under the account.

Think about the level of permissions the user needs before adding them.

Step 3: Add a User

  1. In the Admin panel, navigate to Account Settings or Property Settings (depending on where you want to add the user).
  2. Click the + (Plus) icon in the top right and select Add Users.
  3. Enter the email address of the user you want to add.
  4. Choose whether to notify the user by email.

Step 4: Assign User Permissions

Google Analytics offers different permission levels:

  • Administrator: Full control over settings and users.
  • Editor: Can modify settings but not manage users.
  • Viewer: Can view reports but cannot modify settings.
  • Analyst: Can create and share reports.

Select the appropriate role for the user.

Click Add to finalize the process.

Step 5: Verify Access

  1. The new user will receive an email notification (if enabled).
  2. They can now log in to Google Analytics and access the account or property based on the assigned permissions.

Conclusion

You have successfully added a user to Google Analytics. If needed, you can repeat the process for additional users or adjust permissions later.
